My name is Linda Sinquefield, and I am honored and humbled to have been selected as Teacher of the Year at Orange Grove Elementary. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from McNeese State University in 1980. Further education includes obtaining a Masters of Arts degree in Reading Literacy from Capella University in 2012 and was recognized as a Magna Cum Laude Graduate. I am highly qualified by maintaining certifications in the areas of Elementary Education, Special Education, ESL, and middle school Language Arts.
My teaching career began in 1980 as a Pre-K Teacher and has included teaching positions in grades Kindergarten, First Grade, Fifth Grade, and Seventh Grade Reading. I have also taught Special Education as an Inclusion, Resource, Co-Teacher and SLC Teacher. Other positions include ESL Teacher and as an Elementary Math Specialist.
My teaching philosophy is that when given the right opportunities, every student has the ability to learn and to be successful. I display my teaching abilities by forming relationships with my students and trying to help them to find their strengths, so that they can believe in themselves the way that I believe in them, in order to be successful.
Becoming an effective teacher and never straying from my beliefs has been rewarding and has given me a sense that I am making the difference in every student’s academic achievements.
Again thank you Orange Grove for acknowledging my teaching capabilities to serve as Teacher of the Year at Orange Grove Elementary.
